As the book of the Minnesota -based band STRANGE DAZE opens, the pages begin to fill with endless possibilities for success. Their most recent 11-song album - Redefined, features the dynamic 'Beautiful,' as well as other standouts like the heavy ‘Another Day,' the self-feeling 'I,' and ‘Lost.' Redefined has a range of songs from the in your face ‘Quick Suspicion’ to the Mellow ballad of ‘Never to late.’

Strange Daze has been around for nearly 10 years, dating back to the garage days. It's been 3 years since the current lineup played their first gig in which they have escalated their style of musical and personal growth, without the accompanying of blown-up egos that destroy so many bands. STORIES, Strange Daze self-released debut, came out in 2001, and, playing the Minnesota area over the next several years, the quartet started making a name for themselves. The album hit #9 on the College Journal going for Ads chart.

STRANGE DAZE felt STORIES was a strong debut, but were anxious for the challenge of beginning work on its follow up in 2004. Bassist MIK BAILEY found that the process of making REDEFINED brought out more of their live sound. 'We recorded our first album over a weekend and you could tell the production wasn’t there. We were still pretty happy with the results on such a low budget, but we felt if this is what we are going to do we need to invest more.’ We do not believe in technology taking over the pure sound of a band. Our albums will be exactly how we sound live.’

Guitarist ERIC MOUDRY found that by taking extra time and experimenting with different mics brought out a much heavier sound in his playing style. Moudry feels the sound on REDEFINED is 'fuller, and similar to how I play live.’

Drummer ERIK WILLIAMS experienced his first recording session with his band mates. ‘It was a good experience. I think all the songs on the album are strong. I just want to push harder and take more time on our next album and write more as a group. I think that’s where our sound will really come together when we all bring something to the table.’

With that being said, a careful listen to REDEFINED will reveal how deep KNUDSON’S lyrics will go. He is unafraid to write what he has felt in the past and sees it as an uplifting experience to share it with others.

Strange Daze is excited with the growth evinced on REDEFINED, and while they know they have a solid fan base that have stuck with them over the last 10 years they envision a new chapter to share with everyone.
